Red, Yellow, Green: How We Score Technical Risk
A scoring model is only useful if two different reviewers reach the same conclusion from the same evidence.
Colour ratings are worthless without stated thresholds. The value of a scoring model lies in its repeatability across targets, not in its presentation.
The thresholds we apply
- Green: no remediation required before the buyer's first planned initiative
- Yellow: remediation is scoped, funded, and can run alongside the roadmap
- Red: the roadmap cannot begin until the issue is resolved
Every score carries the evidence and the estimate behind it, so a deal team can challenge the reasoning rather than argue about the colour.
